Founder and K-6 Tutor
Katie Hamburg
My name is Katie Hamburg. I have a degree in Elementary Education from UW- Milwaukee. I have a Masters Degree in Literacy Education from UW- Oshkosh. I have been a teacher for 25 years. My passion is teaching literacy to elementary students. I also enjoy watching kids fall in love with Math, Science and Social Studies.
Opening Lakepark Learning Lab has been a dream come true! I am enjoying every minute of it! I absolutely love watching the scholars work hard and have fun!
K-3 Tutor and Reading Specialist
Tracy Scharf
My name is Tracy Scharf. I am a 2004 graduate of Marian University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently employed with a local school district as a reading interventionist. I am passionate about teaching reading and am trained in Orton Gillingham methods through the Institute of Multi-sensory Education (IMSE). My methods use a hands on multi-sensory approach to learning reading and writing and are based on the Science of Reading. I look forward to working with your child and helping them feel successful.
K-6 Tutor
Laural Wilson
My name is Laural Wilson. I am a veteran teacher of nearly 27 years. I graduated from Marian (College) University in FDL with a degree in teaching. I am certified to teach grades 1-6. I also have a Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. My goal is to help children of all ages fall in love with learning, whether it is through Literacy, Math, Social Studies, Science, as well as art and music! I love watching the light bulb go on when kids understand a new concept. I believe in fostering a love of learning through collaborative activities and real-world applications.
6-12 English Language Arts Tutor and ACT prep
Emily Waisanen
My name is Emily Waisanen. I am a graduate from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I taught middle school Science and English Language Arts for 17 years. I would love to help scholars in Middle School and High School ELA. I also have passion for Writing. I can help write and revise high school papers, scholarships essays, and essays for college applications. In addition, I can assist with ACT prep in the area of ELA.

Heather Pagel
Hi, my name is Heather Pagel. I graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a major in math, a minor in history and earned my teaching license as well. I taught middle school and high school math for 25 years. During that time, I went back to school twice to get a master’s degree in education and a master’s degree in math education. I have taught 6-8th grade math, algebra, geometry, algebra 2, precalculus and AP Statistics.
I currently am teaching at Moraine Park Technical College.
I have a passion for scholars understanding math and feeling successful. I also enjoy working with students and getting them ready for the ACT. I can also help with AP prep for both precalculus and statistics.

Penny Collin
Penny Collin is the K-12 Partnership Coordinator at Moraine Park Technical College, connecting with schools across Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Calumet counties. A former educator with over 10 years of experience, she’s passionate about youth, sports, and community. Penny coaches softball and basketball, serves on the Fond du Lac Fusion Volleyball board, co-chairs Alzheimer’s initiatives, and is a proud member of Leadership of Fond du Lac. She’s married with three children and lives by the motto: "Your life is your message to the world. Make sure it’s inspiring.
6-12 Tutor and Credit Recovery
Lisa Frankow
My name is Lisa Frankow. I have a Bachelors in Secondary Education, a Masters in Educational Leadership and an Alternative Education license. I taught middle school Social Studies for 16 years and have been teaching alternative education for the last 10 years. I would love to help scholars in Middle School and High School with credit recovery, and homework help.

K-6 Tutor and Reading Specialist
Amy Monka
My name is Amy Monka. I graduated with a Masters Degree as a Reading Specialist. Prior to my experience as a reading teacher, I taught learning disabled students at both the elementary and high school level. I love working with students to enhance their strengths and determine next steps to unlock their potential as proficient readers.

One on one Tutoring
Each tutoring session is tailored to meet your child's needs. Sessions are typically held in 30, 45, or 60 minute increments. I will monitor progress and provide fun and engaging instruction to help your child meet their goals!

Semi-Private Tutoring
Semi-Private tutoring meets with 2 scholars that are working on similar goals. This setup not only offers tailored support but also fosters collaborative learning, allowing students to tackle challenges together and gain diverse insights. It’s a cost-effective way to enhance academic skills and confidence.
Homework Helper
Reviews homework assignments with children and helps them to understand the nature of the work assignments; answers student questions and assists with completing assignments on time.

Learning Pods
A learning pod is a small group of students who learn together outside of the classroom. Pods can be used for a variety of purposes, such as students with similar needs, or interests. Pods can be used for socialization activities. In addition STEM, music and art lesson can be used to spark curiosity and interest.

What are Learning Pods?
Complimentary Learning
In this pod students are grouped with peers of similar academic needs. With teacher directions, students can do activities, play games together, and help each other grow and learn.
Supplement to Home Schooling
In this pod, teacher will work with home-schooling adults to supplement what their children need. It can be a fun way to try a different approach to academic learning.
Social Activities
Learning pods can include social activities. In this pod, we may feel like an after-school club or play group. Activities are made with the children's interests in mind. This pod could also be theme based.
STEAM
STEAM pods are used to spark curiosity and interest in the academic areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. These pods will include hands on activities, problem solving, and creativity. Students learn to think out side of the box while having fun!
